I asked Stefano Tonchi, the editor in chief of W magazine, to talk about Edward: "Edward is one of the most talented image-makers in the world. He is also one of the funniest and most creative people I have ever met. His enthusiasm for fashion and magazines is contagious. I call him “the sunshine in my life" because he can always see the positive side of things, the half full glass and never the half empty. That does not mean that he excepts mediocrity. He constantly strives for excellence but with culture and respect for others."
I had the pleasure of working with Emma Summerton who took portraits of Edward (her Fashion Fairy Godmother as she so aptly named him), Alec Maxwell and their dog Ru. Ru has boundless energy and was so happy to have his photograph taken! Here is what Edward had to share about Ru:
How did you come to Ru?
"Our friend in London has a Boston Terrier. She told my partner about hers and he decided to surprise me with one. The personality of a Boston Terrier is a great fit for our lifestyle; they are fun and active but also like to snuggle up and watch TV."

What is his favorite toy?
“We have bought every possible toy for Ru and he loves most of them, but his favorite is a plastic bottle. If you finish drinking water from a bottle, he wants it. He loves to take the lid off the bottle.”
What does he do that makes you laugh the hardest?
“Ru is obsessed with getting a tummy rub. When you enter the room, he demands a tummy rubbing. He will lay on his back and give you cute eyes. If you don't rub him for long enough, he keeps flipping back on his back until you continue. He also has moments of insanity, where he runs around the apartment with crazy eyes. Also, whenever Alec and I sit next to each other, he'll quickly pop up in between us and make it all about him.”
What's it like for Ru having SUCH stylish parents!
“I don't think Ru has noticed, he's too busy living in Ru's world.”
