I fell in love last month and I fell hard. The object of my affection right now is Pet People magazine. Nothing is better than getting a delicious little magazine full of treasures in your mailbox. As a fellow animal lover I reached out to Hilda Grahnat and Linnea Paulsson to find out more about their chic new magazine.

HOW DID YOU GIRLS COME UP WITH THE IDEA TO DO THE MAGAZINE?
We are both true pet people, and we wanted to create something about the unique relationships between pets and their people. We also wanted to complete a self-initiated project from start to finish. We've done everything ourselves, from creating the content (photographing, writing, designing) to distributing the magazine to shops around the world. We love magazines; the tactile qualities the digital world is missing, waiting for a new issue, reading through it page by page, seeing the collection grow. This project is a chance for us to work together doing something that we love, with boundaries created only by us.
WHAT ANIMALS DO YOU HAVE?
Hilda: I am a self-confessed crazy cat lady, though I don't have a cat. I talk to every cat I meet on the street, and have several cat-friends in my neighborhood who I pet almost every day.
Linnea: I have had cats, rabbits, fish and hamsters all my life (though not at the same time), and now I have a black and white cat called Snöret (The string).
WHAT INSPIRES YOU BOTH AND WHY?
We're inspired by the self-made movement in culture that has grown with the Internet. Seeing other people put their dreams into action and using the Internet community as a playground, tool and platform has inspired us to do the same. Our motto is "make it 'til you make it", meaning we learn as we go along.
WHAT DO YOU BOTH DO DAY JOB WISE?
Hilda is a photographer, focused on lifestyle, interiors, still life and portraits as well as more self-initiated projects. Linnea works as a designer, mostly in graphic design but also products and objects. We met while studying graphic design at an art school in the south of Sweden.
WHAT ARE THE NEXT FEW CITIES?
We'd like to keep this a secret for a little while longer, but we can tell you that the following issues will be a mix of Nordic cities and more international. We'll announce the next city soon on our Instagram - @petpeoplemag, so interested pet people should follow us there!
