DOG ART TODAY, GREAT SITE, EVEN BETTER RESCUE STORY
Moira McLaughlin is here to tell us how her gorgeous little rescue guy changed her life! "When Darby, my 17-year-old Longhaired Dachshund, died in 2011, I unravelled. He was my muse and partner, the inspiration for my blog Dog Art Today and my lifeline to normalcy after losing everything to fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue ten years earlier. My grief terrified me. I knew that I needed a dog, my mental and physical health depended on it, but I couldn’t conceive how I would ever find one. Every single person that I confided my fears to answered me with the same three words, “You will know.”

FRANCOIS DISCHINGER HAS A DOG NAMED NELLEE THAT HE DIDN'T NAME
Francois had this irresistible photo that I had to ask to share on Mrs.Sizzle. Here is what he has to says about Nellee, his chic pooch, "I got this dog (Nellee) 13.5 yrs ago in Grand Island near Niagra falls. My wife and I flew out to pick her up and since the breeder called her Nellie and she came running around the corner we were smitten and couldn't change her name, although we did change the spelling just to complicate things from then on....I grew up with Poodles all over Africa and when I was 11 we emigrated to Montreal bringing our poodle "Dodgie" (my sister named her) with us. Dodgie lived to be 18!"
CLARA NEEDED ALOT BUT GAVE US A GREAT DEAL IN RETURNs

HOUSE TRAINING BY THE RESIDENT TRAINER, STACY!
Stacy Alldredge is here to tell you how to get it done! "House training is a pretty straightforward process. I have yet to meet a healthy dog or puppy that couldn't be housetrained 100%. Here are the key points to getting you and your dog trained:
DAWN WHITMORE LOVES HER POODLE BEN
This lovely photographer, Dawn Whitmore, sent me her delicious story about her rescue dog Ben. "Ben is an incredible pup despite a rocky history. He was pulled by authorities from a hoarding/puppy mill situation in rural Minnesota. He was the only Standard among a ton of tiny dogs. Sadly, he was very aggressive and sent to German Shepherd rescue for a few weeks to determine whether or not he might be adoptable to someone. I had applied for a rescue poodle weeks before (with Mid Atlantic Poodle Rescue) and received a call that there was a dog available. I was the only acceptable candidate for him because I'd worked as a vet tech several years prior and am familiar with crazy dogs. Needless to say I took him in October 2011 and have done lots of positive training classes with the Washington Animal Rescue League (WARL) here in DC.

LARA STONE'S DOG, BERT, HAS HIS OWN SPECIAL TREATS FROM FETCH & FOLLOW IN LONDON, CHIC
I first saw Fetch & Follow while I was on Lara Stone's instagram feed and these adorable dog treats popped up! I had to know more! The owners, Taneale and Genesta, became friends through their love of dogs and Fetch & Follow was founded when they struggled to find dog products which were natural and ethical, but also captured the fun personalities of their dogs.

JULIA LOUIS-DREYFUS'S DAD, WILLIAM, LOVES ART LIKE NO OTHER
Earlier in the summer my dear friend from growing up, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, invited me to see GENEROSITY OF EYE, a film she and her husband, Brad Hall, had made about her Dad's spectacular art collection. The documentary follows her father, William, and the plan to benefit the Harlem Children's Zone when his art collection is sold. Of course, when I went to go see the film I couldn't help be delighted at the altruistic intent of the collection not to mention how many animals I discovered were in it! Here are a few.

LASSO LEASHES WERE BORN OUT OF A FAMILY CRAFT
Sato dogs are what they call strays in Puerto Rico. After adopting their first sato named Gaia, Maria and Manu Baez began creating leashes and collars made from rope; learning the craft from their father who was a master of rope work. Today Maria and Manu sell their beautiful and unique rope collars, leashes and harnesses on Lasso. What is also awesome about this company is that they sell funky rope jewelry so that owners can be nautical chic just like their dog!

JOHN BAXTER TELLS HIS DOG STORY AND A GOOD ONE IT IS
When I was about six, my parents, in a well-intentioned but misguided parenting gesture, brought home an adorable Sealyham terrier, named him "Chester," and then stood back and waited for a bond to form between us. But it turned out that Chester was even less interested in me than I was in him. He poured all of his considerable energy into getting as filthy as possible at every opportunity, and I preferred playing with insects, so we tacitly agreed to ignore each other for the duration of his stay. Indeed, I hardly noticed when he was shipped off to a farm (yes, a real farm) less than six months later. I felt no sadness at Chester’s departure and I certainly didn't miss him, but every so often it would cross my mind that he was once our dog. Then I would picture him happily chasing livestock and rolling in a pigsty somewhere and think he was well out of it.
WAG WEAR LOVES RESCUE DOGS ESPECIALLY PAYTON
I visited Amy Harlow and her store Wag Wear in the Village. She built this store years ago when she had two dogs and needed great things for her dogs that she couldn't find. "It's all about great accessories" says Amy. She takes pride in saying that if she were a dog, this is what she would wear. We decided to model Wag Wear on Payton, a sweet one year Dutch Shepard Mix, who is great with other dogs.
MARILYN MONROE CUDDLED WITH A SWEET DOG AND EVE ARNOLD CAPTURED IT

AMY LOMBARD DID INDEED GROW UP WITH ANIMALS
I first saw these photos on Feature Shoot and flipped! I reached out to Amy and here is her story about these magnificent photos.
"Before I went to my first dog event I was very deep into a terrible photographic rut. I had hit a breaking point, and I asked myself “What do YOU love? What are YOU interested in?” I looked around my room and saw my Pomeranian Sasha looking at me. Something clicked in my head and I became curious about dog culture in New York City. The Doggies and Tiaras Pageant, founded by pet fashion designer Roberto Negrin, was the first thing I found when doing my research. The moment I stepped into the New Yorker Hotel it was like I got my groove back.
BRIAN MOSS IS WALKING THE WALK
This amazing man, Brian Moss, reached out to me and I am such a fan of his charitable work. Here he shares his story:
"I own a rescue pit bull and a [once] stray cat.
I have always “talked the talk” but have never really been able to “walk the walk” beyond my own rescues and donating to various local rescue groups from time to time. Fostering other dogs would be too difficult because of my own animals, and I dont have the emotional strength to volunteer at places like New York’s “Animal Care and Control” centers
