1. Keep it simple.
Simple = Chic. Simple, uncluttered backgrounds result in great pet photos! This puts all of the attention on your precious pet, which, let’s be honest, is what we really want to see.
Add interest with color: Colorful blankets, walls, rugs and toys, as well as geometric shapes and unexpected textures, are the perfect way to brighten up a photo and in turn will make your subject, aka your precious pet, POP.

ARNE SVENSON'S CHEWED UP DOG TOYS ARE RIGHT UP MRS. SIZZLE'S ALLEY
My dear friend Laurie Kratochvil sent me this marvelous book to peek at. My first reaction as a dog owner was pure glee and fascination; but the more I looked at the pictures and the way the objects are photographed, they became a tad sad and that's what I love about them. I am even more in awe after hearing what Arne Svenson had to say about the work!

MRS SIZZLE AND SOPHIE GAMAND TOOK A TRIP TO BROOKHAVEN ANIMAL SHELTER TO MAKE MORE #PITBULLFLOWERPOWER
Sophie Gamand is an animal lover, photographer, and animal activist extraordinaire.
I was lucky enough to be along for the ride last week in Brookhaven Long Island, a town that I live in and one that has a very special need which Sophie could fulfill - Pit Bull awareness - by extending her series "Flower Power, Pit Bulls of the Revolution". We visited the Brookhaven Animal Shelter, with Ashley Boyd at the helm, and over two days, Sophie was able to photograph more than 50 dogs. I was in awe!
WHAT SHOULD I CHEW ON WHEN I AM BORED, MY DOG ASKED?
So between the controversy with raw hide and the smell of Bullie breath (you all know what that means!), I had to reach out to someone in the know! Alanna Heiss had told me about this brilliant vet out of Philadelphia who is an expert on all things holistic and good for animals! I was perplexed - Bullie sticks, pig feet, antlers, which is it!! Natasha Kassell's reply was this!
MRS. SIZZLE LOVES A CHIC DOG PORTRAIT IN PLATINUM BY CAMERAWORK STUDIO
Tricia Rosenkilde from Camerawork Studio reached out to me to present her gorgeous platinum portraits of animals. The puppies all found wonderful homes when they were brought up to New Jersey by Eleventh Hour Rescue.

Then the dogs took over and people started commissioning more dogs than people! I do still paint people as well and sometimes, people and dogs together."
HEIDI LENDER AND HER FABULOUS DOG, BUBBA, GO PLACES TOGETHER

A gypsy by nature (or maybe that's me), road-trip navigator and shotgun-rider on three cross-country trips, favors motel hallways and elevators, lives part-time in Uruguay, afraid of horses and cats, loves chorizo. He's featured in three of my photo series (so far) and can often be found modeling on my instagram feed."
