I met this remarkable photographer at the National Arts club earlier this summer. I was undone by her instagram feed and inquired about her work. Here is a new series Klee is doing with all her own images after years of borrowing from fashion magazines. Her 8lb pooch is her muse and here is one of her latest projects.
I have known this man for decades - not close like “besties” but rather kindred spirits of sorts. I always knew Isaac was a dog person, but when I learned that the two dogs he owns and loves were rescues, I was relentless. I mean RELENTLESS. So here we go, nothing more to say. I so adore Sally's work and this is what she had to say about it! "I got into painting dogs accidentally. I used to paint my children over and over and then the dogs crept in. Then the dogs took over and people started commissioning more dogs than people! I do still paint people as well and sometimes, people and dogs together."

Toast Meets World is a brave puppy mill survivor who is here to teach us that rescue dogs are as beautiful as our purebred supermodels, Jagger a Yorkie and Riley a Shih Tzu. We use the word survivor because most “breeding” dogs at mills meet and early and unpleasant end once their bodies can no longer produce. Toast was photographed in a studio on August 7th in NYC by Tom Schirmacher and had her hair done by Gavin Harwin who had also previously worked on the shot of Jagger and Riley a few months back.

"Before I went to my first dog event I was very deep into a terrible photographic rut. I had hit a breaking point, and I asked myself “What do YOU love? What are YOU interested in?” I looked around my room and saw my Pomeranian Sasha looking at me. Something clicked in my head and I became curious about dog culture in New York City. The Doggies and Tiaras Pageant, founded by pet fashion designer Roberto Negrin, was the first thing I found when doing my research. The moment I stepped into the New Yorker Hotel it was like I got my groove back.
LLOYD says, "We've had 3 Ridgebacks since 1990: Tarzan, Aix and now Zulu. Judah, our grandson, is in the bath with Aix and on the bed in the blue room at our house in Orient Point with Zulu. "
