My cousin, Crazy Sexy Kris Carr a goddess but her dog Buddy is my true hero
One of my biggest mentors, both with cancer advice and with rescue admiration, is my cousin Kris. She is a cancer thriver, and wellness warrior, not to mention, compassionate and informative also. I couldn't help reach out to her to have her share her compelling story about Buddy, who she found in the woods with her husband Brian Fassett. I have to say the journey was one of my favorite Intsagram feeds ever!

Peruvian Connection is warming up these beautiful dogs from Humane Society of NY
I had not yet been to the Humane Society of New York until today and it is with great joy that I can report I finally met my friend Sandra DeFeo who Richard Phibbs had introduced me to! Today I was there with the great Tara Sgroi to photograph some gorgeous dogs who are in need of furever homes. The most fun thing is they are wearing Peruvian Connection sweaters that CEO and Founder, Annie Hurlbut, dreamed up that use the remnants of the alpaca garments that are knit for Peruvian Connection.Tomorrow these sweaters will be for sale with 100% of the proceeds benefitting the Humane Society of New York
2 apps that will make you want to do doggie good
Jane and Cory Turner both light up whenever they talk dogs. Ozzy & Zoe, their furry pups, are the perfect ying-yang pooch pairing while Jane and Cory are the perfect mommy daughter duo. They are the brains behind turning doggie “love” into donation dollars. Their app Dogly lets you edit and share the tons of cute doggie photos on your camera roll (guilty as charged), and the number of “loves” are counted towards a rescue shelter of your choice. Even more brilliant, Dogly gives you a sneak peak into the lives of their fave pooches.

ISAAC MIZRAHI LOVES ONLY HANDSOME DOGS - HANDSOME RESCUE DOGS THAT IS. MRS. SIZZLE AND WILLIAM ABRANOWICZ WENT TO HAVE A PLAYDATE WITH THEM
I have known this man for decades - not close like “besties” but rather kindred spirits of sorts. I always knew Isaac was a dog person, but when I learned that the two dogs he owns and loves were rescues, I was relentless. I mean RELENTLESS. So here we go, nothing more to say. Watch the brilliant video directed by William Abranowicz and be delighted by the man who so often delights with humor and his wit. Ladies and Gents, Isaac Mizrahi.
with the help of instagram friends we bring you RC/KP and Kate Perry's lovely animal illustrations
As you all know one of my favorite activities is being glued to Instagram and following the suggestion of accounts of other dog people I admire! So, @growlmama, when I finally get to meet you, I will hug you, for one of the brilliant accounts you led me to was this: Kate Perry of RED CHALK, who is a wonderful illustrator and was inspired by one of my photos enough to do it doggie justice with a drawing! Lucky Raggio, you made the Australian cut! As you would assume, I reached out and here is the "poop" on Kate and her wonderful illustrations!
Here's Ella Bean the Insta-famous dog and a behind the scenes look at a busy day in her life
This one...Ok she may be small but I think she is larger than life! Chic, quirky, positive are just a few of the words that come to mind when I think of Ella Bean the Dog but go ahead and see for yourself. Mrs. Sizzle grilled her the other week!
A rescue love story
As with many modern-day romances, my husband and I first met Merle online. We were scrolling through Petfinder, and came across a photo of a dumpling-shaped, impossibly adorable puppy named Limo. A few emails later, we learned Limo was unavailable, but that he had a brother named Charlos.

rob younkers and joe zee dressed their dogs and Pamela Hanson was there to watch the whole show
These two - Rob Younkers and Joe Zee! Best in their biz, celebrated fashion and creative directors, TV personalities extraordinaire not to mention BIG dog lovers. So we at Mrs. Sizzle asked Pamela Hanson to join us for a doggie play date at their apartment and we had NO IDEA how much fun it would really be. Of course they played dress up! See below for some of the q’s we asked about the dogs but as not to belabor here is the fruit of our visit – the cutest vide I have ever seen!
If Dr. Seuss were here today he would rescue an animal any day
Thank you Random house for publishing this brilliant project that was unearthed in the early nineties by his wife Audrey and friend Claudia Prescott. More importantly THANK YOU for acknowledging the importance of raising awareness about adoption and having that be the mission of the release of this book - it's SIZZLE inspired!
Michael Lavine sent me this video on his beloved Cocker Sunny
"Our beloved English Cocker Sunny brought joy to our family for 8 short years. A sweet and kind animal that loved to play fetch, he was never far from his ball. He spent a lot of time on set with me and he loved the camera, always trying to get in the picture. Sunny was a fiercely loyal friend that would never stray from my side. Sunny passed away in 2011."
One visit to Edwina von Gal's and you understand the meaning of green
One can barely imagine that after driving through the heat and traffic that you could come upon a place as glorious as Edwina von Gal's home aka The PRFCT place. What the hell does that mean a PRFCT place? Thank God Edwina was there to shed some light on this GREEN topic! I consider myself pretty smart ( although I did walk into a puppy store to buy my gays and THAT changed my life furever...#adoptdontshop now tatooed on my body ) but I needed to be told about her mission and why its so important!

Mrs. Sizzle's DOGS NIGHT OUT
As the child of Mrs. Sizzle, very rarely am I allowed space on her site to brag about her accomplishments as the dog-lady extraordinaire. Luckily for me, her latest event in Bellport, Long Island gives me the perfect opportunity to do just that.
A nod to Martin Usborne in this new series of Dogs in cars by nathaniel Welch
Dogs in cars, yes, but really they are dogs in shelters. Brookhaven Animal Shelter to be exact. Thankfully I can tell you that since Nathaniel and I went to start our photographic series at the shelter, two of the three dogs we have pictured here have been adopted. That's a good thing. The sad thing is that there are about 115 more in the shelter that do need homes. We at Mrs. Sizzle hope to raise awareness about the hard to ignore multitudes of pets that do need homes and are housed in shelters across America.
LOVE magazine LOVES dogs
I knew Sophie Gamand was doing a big shoot last summer so it is with great pride that I share with you her latest story from my favorite, LOVE MAGAZINE. She has not only applied her fab photographic skills but does what she is known best for - photographing beautiful dogs that are so badly in need of a home. She has already appeared on Sizzle with her pit bull series, one that we prepared together in Brookhaven, NY.
Are you willing to fight for your dog? Chrissy Beckles is and would love to show you how she does it for The Sato Project.
The Sato Project's own fearless Founder and President, Chrissy "Boom Boom" Beckles will step through the ropes to fight so the dogs of Puerto Rico don't have to.

Brigitte Lacombe and Studio cat
Before we get too carried away with dogs, I did want to say that the occasional cat, bird, elephant, rabbit, or African Pygmy Hedgehog might appear! But this cat, aka, Brigitte Lacombe's Studio Cat is one of my favorites.

WELCOME to the Park Hyatt NYC where dogs are people too
In the city that never sleeps, dog owners find it difficult to stay at a luxury hotel that allows pups to rest their heads. Since its opening last August, the Park Hyatt NYC has become a haven for just that. Just a short two block walk from Central Park, the Park Hyatt combines the chic atmosphere of a city hotel with the added comfort of bringing your furry friend. In addition to having the best amenities for pooches, The Park Hyatt NY donates 100% of the overnight dog fee to Friends of Finn and The Humane Society of the United States.
SHINOLA asked Mrs. Sizzle what a hero looked like and by hero I mean dog
Sugar Baby is a Redtick Coonhound WHO NEEDS YOU! She's a very sweet girl but she can be a bit timid as loud noises and quick movements do startle her. A quiet home would be best. Sugar's a hero because being in a shelter is a confusing situation for any dog, but she's strong and knows that she willl find her furrever home soon.
