I HAD THE BEST DAY AT ANIMAL HAVEN WITH @THEDOGIST AND LOVE THY BEAST
Animal Haven (and that it is)! I spent the afternoon with Tiffany Lacey, the director of the shelter, and was undone by its pristine cages and the friendly staff. What a job! Not sure I could do it myself everyday but KUDOS to Tiffany. Pictured here are a FEW of the dogs currently up for adoption and I hope @thedogist and I did them justice. I have a special place in my heart for Barney as I know you will to! Please consider bringing one of these beauties home today.

From fringe to organic patterns and textiles, embrace your inner hippie with these runway favorites for you and your dog.
MR.OLLIE PANTS, HAVE YOU EVER?
We rescued Ollie from the North Central Animal Shelter In Los Angeles, CA. He was brought in as a stray at the estimated age of 3/4months. When we met him, he simply walked over to the front of his cage and gently kissed our hands, and we knew we couldn't leave without him.
Shy and a bit skittish as a puppy, Ollie has blossomed into a wonderful adventurer and companion.
NOTHING'S BETTER THAN GETTING THIS THANK YOU AFTER A DINNER PARTY FROM MATTHEW PARR

These are some photos of Milo, an Australian Shepard, shot by the still photographer, Miles Rasmussen, on Gus's movie set, "Sea of Trees", that were sent to me by his dear friend Paige Powell. Here is a fun description of Milo on set by Miles:
BONE & RAG ROCKS
I found these guys, Bone & Rag, on Instagram; I love their product and I know I am only showing their beds (great photos!), but they also do a hell of a lead, some great collars and bowls to boot!
MIA LOVES JAY IS NOT A LOVE STORY BUT A PILLOW DESIGNER
Mia loves Jay and Mrs. Sizzle loves Mia loves Jay. Says Mia, "I'm a massive dog lover, owner of a crazy 4 year old Labrador and an 11 year old Westie, hence my love for creating my designs. I grew up on a farm in rural Ireland, so I have been surrounded by dogs, horses, sheep, chickens, etc my entire life.
AMY TURNER LOVES DOLLY PARTON
My girlfriend, Sammy, and I were not sure if we were ready for a new dog after the death of our beloved dog, Edith Piaf. We went to an adoption fair from a wonderful rescue group in LA called Dogs Without Borders. We were very sad, and not sure if we were ready to bring another animal into our world… until we saw her.

JANE LARKWORTHY HAS A FASHION HOUND
“I think I’m an old soul,” muses Remy Lark-bassi, a five year-old black Standard Poodle. “I’m so comfortable in vintage pieces—especially capes and berets and head scarves—that I really think I must have been a part of Coco’s or Cristobal’s or Christian’s posse in a past life.” Such lofty claims could only come from a Standard, though this Standard is anything but lofty

TAKE YOUR DOG ON A Baseball ADVENTURE
It is back to school for the kids but that doesn't mean the fun has to stop for your favorite members of the household! This September, there are a bunch of Mrs. Sizzle approved events for you and the furry ones:
I AM MAX AND THE GUY BEHIND ME IS VINCENT FLOURET
"My name is Max! I'm a 2 year old Golden Retriever and Labrador mix. My dad tells people that I'm a "Goldbrador" - I don't know what that means but it sounds chic, I love it! My schedule is quiet busy: walking, playing, eating, napping, smiling, and posing most of the time. Speaking about posing, my day job, as a pre-light model and studio assistant, is to keep everybody happy on dad's set. Aside from that, I try hard to push the limits, to get what I want from everybody (i.e. sad looks, overt tenderness when sitting next to the pizza, those kind of things...). Indeed, one day I might quit my day job to become an actor! We'll see!"
YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE A HOUND TO WEAR HOUNDSTOOTH!
Everyone complains about the summer ending, going back to work and the end of bottomless brunches! Fall gets met with so much trepidation and greeted with a bad rap! We at Mrs. Sizzle love the Fall! With Fall comes the best weather for dog walking, pumpkin spiced everything and our ultimate favorite: layering! This year, Fall is the season of the hound...houndstooth that is! Houndstooth, subtle but distinguished pattern, is a layers-lover's dream! Here is some of our must have houndstooth pieces for you and your hound!
ROBERT COUTURIER IS OBSESSED WITH SHIH TZUS

BROOKE ASTOR'S DOG, GIRLSY, JUST RECENTLY WENT TO DOGGIE HEAVEN
William Waldron and I were lucky enough to photograph Brooke Astor for House and Garden magazine in the late 1980's at her home, "Holly Hill", in Briarcliff Manor, NY. My friend Bob Morris just informed me that Astor's last doggie heir, Girlsy, recently died at the ripe old age of 21 which is really 147 years old in dog years - although the breed is known for its longevity. Iris Love, who raises champion dachshunds in VT, cared for Girlsy after Mrs. Astor passed away in 2007. She said she was the only dachshund in the house who refused to use the doggy door. Well done, Mrs. Astor!
