SUPERZOO ROUNDUP
If you had told me a year and a half ago, while sitting in my gorgeous office at the Conde Nast building, that I would attend something called SuperZoo during the period to come, I think I would have looked at you like you had three heads. So as all things do with time, the sense of that statement seems to have faded away, and I am a proud Mrs. Sizzle to say that at this year's SuperZoo (one of the most popular trade shows in North America for the pet industry), I had a BLAST!
Cheeky the dog heads south to the Delta and shows Mrs. Sizzle a cotton picking good time
DOG & CO. hit the road this summer with V.P. of Quality Control/Cheif Product Tester, Cheeky the Dog, to explore the South. Their stop in Clarksdale, Mississippi took to us to the home of the blues, where she sported all-American looks from some of our favorite designers on location at the incredible Shack Up Inn. Mrs. Sizzle is in awe of the result and had to share this summertime story!
Mrs. Sizzle gives you some pointers for traveling with dogs
After the first stressful 20 min, during which we anticipate the familiar noise emanating from the back, we settle in…even though Zara will continue to puke every few hours, Zen will get bored and start to chew on the seats, one of the two will start to smell really, really bad, and both will force us to pull over what seems like every 5 minutes for a bathroom break. If you can’t already tell, our road trip is essentially a dog and owner’s nightmare.
CHRISTOPH NIEMANN SENDS MRS. SIZZLE A DOG, I THINK
I have admired the art of Christoph Niemann for some time now and my curiosity got to me so I reached out. This is the genius response I got:
"Thank you so much for your kind note! I looked at your blog and this is all very inspiring indeed! I have a silkscreen print of a dog (well...Kind of a dog at least). Not sure if this is what you had in mind but here it is nevertheless."
I love what I got and if you are a fan like me you can now own this heavenly piece of art by clicking HERE.
Elinor Carucci is thinking about getting a dog
And in 2003 she shot her friend's cats, Sasha and Digweed, named after the famous DJ. Maybe Elinor, after seeing so many pictures of dogs, will want one now.
Are you willing to fight for your dog? Chrissy Beckles is and would love to show you how she does it for The Sato Project.
The Sato Project's own fearless Founder and President, Chrissy "Boom Boom" Beckles will step through the ropes to fight so the dogs of Puerto Rico don't have to.
Who really does run the roost at Nadine Johnson PR? Lupo wanted to share with us that he really is top dog.
A few weeks ago we stopped by the fabulously hectic office of PR guru Nadine Johnson to get the scoop on dog mascot Lupo (@lupojohnson). He's stolen every heart in the office, so along with photographer Kimberly M. Wang/Eardog.com and Mindy Montney of Dog & Co, we dug further to see what made this dog tick!
What's your favorite thing to do at the office?
I enjoy teasing my older sister Milou and supervising all the employees from my little throne at the top of the stairs. I also steal their lunches when they are not looking, but need to watch out as beach season is here and I’ve gotten a bit round around the waist.

Brigitte Lacombe and Studio cat
Before we get too carried away with dogs, I did want to say that the occasional cat, bird, elephant, rabbit, or African Pygmy Hedgehog might appear! But this cat, aka, Brigitte Lacombe's Studio Cat is one of my favorites.

WELCOME to the Park Hyatt NYC where dogs are people too
In the city that never sleeps, dog owners find it difficult to stay at a luxury hotel that allows pups to rest their heads. Since its opening last August, the Park Hyatt NYC has become a haven for just that. Just a short two block walk from Central Park, the Park Hyatt combines the chic atmosphere of a city hotel with the added comfort of bringing your furry friend. In addition to having the best amenities for pooches, The Park Hyatt NY donates 100% of the overnight dog fee to Friends of Finn and The Humane Society of the United States.
SHINOLA asked Mrs. Sizzle what a hero looked like and by hero I mean dog
Sugar Baby is a Redtick Coonhound WHO NEEDS YOU! She's a very sweet girl but she can be a bit timid as loud noises and quick movements do startle her. A quiet home would be best. Sugar's a hero because being in a shelter is a confusing situation for any dog, but she's strong and knows that she willl find her furrever home soon.
Fairy Tail in the making, Christopher Cline and his dog Juji
"I moved to Minnesota a couple of years ago from Virginia. I moved here for a girl, Christine, but left my entire life back home. My family and friends, pets, and the overall lifestyle were all left behind me. I quickly learned that although the girl was worth the move, the weather wasn't. I had never lived somewhere with 4 feet of snow and -40° temperatures.
Pickle BeHolding has her hold on the art world and here she tells us how
What's your favorite neighborhood?
Is the park a neighborhood? If so, then any park where I can play fetch is my favorite neighborhood. But I also like the Lower East Side and Chelsea, I have a lot of friends there at the galleries mom takes me to!
Love will save the day
Love wins always.
DAVID KONIGSBERG PAINTED HIS CAT DOTI
It has definitely been a cat week here at Mrs. Sizzle and this is a favorite painting of mine by my friend, David Konigsberg. He has a show called, "Nigh Season", that opens this evening in Larchmont at Kenise Barnes Fine Art on Palmer Avenue. The opening this evening for the artist is from 6:30-8:30 pm. Crawl over to meet the artist!
TIPS TO KEEP YOUR POOCH COOL AS A CUKE
Everyone and their furry mother has been stuck feeling this insane heat wave taking the east coast by storm...
If you are hot and sticky, just try to imagine what it feels like to be wearing a fur coat 24.7!
Here are some few tips to keep those troopers as comfortable as possible until this heat wave subsides:

JEFF SCHER wants a dog. In the meantime playing with Sid will have to do.
I can't stop watching this hilarious play between man and beast. As Jeff puts it, “This film was entirely the dog’s idea. I just supplied the rubber pork chop and the camera. SID and I shared a summer house on Shelter Island, he belonged to famed graphic designer Paul Sahr. Sid was a foot long and in his prime had more energy than a sack of bedsprings and a stick of dynamite.
Dog & co. took a trip to photograph some of the pooches staying at Sugar Mutts rescue
Many a dog are housed at the brilliant new Sugar Mutts rescue in Brooklyn. Melinda Montney and Robert Stoetzel of Dog & Co. make it a priority to go lend a hand and offer up their love and photography. Pictured here is a motley crew of beauties looking for your love.
C/O The Maidstone Hotel invited Mrs. Sizzle and Olia Saunders over for a sleepover with a few friends from Arf Hamptons
One of the toughest things about being a dog is watching your owners head out on a great relaxing vacation knowing that your future does not include the trip. In the best case of scenarios, you are shipped off to have a sleepover with some of your puppy pals, but an even better idea would be to bring us along.
