If Dr. Seuss were here today he would rescue an animal any day
Thank you Random house for publishing this brilliant project that was unearthed in the early nineties by his wife Audrey and friend Claudia Prescott. More importantly THANK YOU for acknowledging the importance of raising awareness about adoption and having that be the mission of the release of this book - it's SIZZLE inspired!
As one does in the summer, Neville and Charlie went to Maine to visit their buddy Carter
I’m not certain there’s enough space on this site to pine over my deep love of Maine. I spent most of my summer’s as a kid on an island in Penobscot Bay and subsequently most of my summer’s as an adult dreaming about one day sharing Maine with a family of my own but until that day comes, why not bring a dog or two!
Michael Lavine sent me this video on his beloved Cocker Sunny
"Our beloved English Cocker Sunny brought joy to our family for 8 short years. A sweet and kind animal that loved to play fetch, he was never far from his ball. He spent a lot of time on set with me and he loved the camera, always trying to get in the picture. Sunny was a fiercely loyal friend that would never stray from my side. Sunny passed away in 2011."
One visit to Edwina von Gal's and you understand the meaning of green
One can barely imagine that after driving through the heat and traffic that you could come upon a place as glorious as Edwina von Gal's home aka The PRFCT place. What the hell does that mean a PRFCT place? Thank God Edwina was there to shed some light on this GREEN topic! I consider myself pretty smart ( although I did walk into a puppy store to buy my gays and THAT changed my life furever...#adoptdontshop now tatooed on my body ) but I needed to be told about her mission and why its so important!

Mrs. Sizzle's DOGS NIGHT OUT
As the child of Mrs. Sizzle, very rarely am I allowed space on her site to brag about her accomplishments as the dog-lady extraordinaire. Luckily for me, her latest event in Bellport, Long Island gives me the perfect opportunity to do just that.
A nod to Martin Usborne in this new series of Dogs in cars by nathaniel Welch
Dogs in cars, yes, but really they are dogs in shelters. Brookhaven Animal Shelter to be exact. Thankfully I can tell you that since Nathaniel and I went to start our photographic series at the shelter, two of the three dogs we have pictured here have been adopted. That's a good thing. The sad thing is that there are about 115 more in the shelter that do need homes. We at Mrs. Sizzle hope to raise awareness about the hard to ignore multitudes of pets that do need homes and are housed in shelters across America.
Dylan the cat and his people Tom Cashin and Jay Johnson as seen by David Williams
As connoisseurs of all things elegant it s no surprise that Tom Cashin and Jay Johnson's cat falls into the same category as their design business. When hearing the phrase, "restrained elegance" we are not quite sure if we are hearing about the business, JED JOHNSON ASSOCIATES INC. or their cat Dylan. So naturally we had to delve and this is what we got.
Wildlandia wants us to know how to keep your white sheets white with dogs
"I get asked this question a lot (especially on Instagram), so I thought it was time I formally addressed the whole how do you keep white sheets white with dogs sleeping in your bed – question. I’ll share my secret, though you may already know it." Nicole Lee of WILDLANDIA
Matilda's birthday at the Algonquin was a fantastic feline fest
Last night, the photographer David Williams and I went to Matilda the cat's birthday at The Algonquin Hotel. This is a hotel tradition that dates back the the 30's when the first stray Matilda walked in to the hotel looking for a hot meal and a bed. The hotel is now on their third Matilda and the party has become quite a celebration of cat lovers much to the delight of the host of the party, Alice de Almeida.

Tucker speaks: the story of a dog, his Dad W. Bruce Cameron, his Mom Cathryn Michon and what it's like to taste fame as seen by Mark Leibowitz
My dear friend David Carriere, long time book publicist and author, was intuitive enough to introduce me to a most dynamic creative pack, and one that I would quickly come to revere - and when I say revere, well, I really mean worship. W. Bruce Cameron is the author of a multitude of bestselling books, and the one that rocked me most recently was, A Dog's Purpose, which will come to life on the silver screen in the near future with Lasse Hallstrom directing!
WEAR your heart on your sleeve - literally

Bibi's dinner - a video by Marja Samsom
I present Marja Samsom, artist, chef, photographer, restauranteur (think The Kitchenclub & Chibi's Bar) extraordinaire, and her delicious dog Bibi (excuse the pun!). We met several weeks ago and I cannot resist sharing this savory dog recipe that Marja made for Bibi
Who loves my dogs more than me? Howie Guja I think. Or at least he acts like it when he takes their pictures!
Summer has hit hard and the Sizzle Sisters must dress accordingly! When the wind picks up in Bellport NY, they are more inclined to go with sleeves like seen here in Mr. Soft Top to keep those limbs warm and stay chic at the same time.
LOVE magazine LOVES dogs
I knew Sophie Gamand was doing a big shoot last summer so it is with great pride that I share with you her latest story from my favorite, LOVE MAGAZINE. She has not only applied her fab photographic skills but does what she is known best for - photographing beautiful dogs that are so badly in need of a home. She has already appeared on Sizzle with her pit bull series, one that we prepared together in Brookhaven, NY.
SUPERZOO ROUNDUP
If you had told me a year and a half ago, while sitting in my gorgeous office at the Conde Nast building, that I would attend something called SuperZoo during the period to come, I think I would have looked at you like you had three heads. So as all things do with time, the sense of that statement seems to have faded away, and I am a proud Mrs. Sizzle to say that at this year's SuperZoo (one of the most popular trade shows in North America for the pet industry), I had a BLAST!
Cheeky the dog heads south to the Delta and shows Mrs. Sizzle a cotton picking good time
DOG & CO. hit the road this summer with V.P. of Quality Control/Cheif Product Tester, Cheeky the Dog, to explore the South. Their stop in Clarksdale, Mississippi took to us to the home of the blues, where she sported all-American looks from some of our favorite designers on location at the incredible Shack Up Inn. Mrs. Sizzle is in awe of the result and had to share this summertime story!
Mrs. Sizzle gives you some pointers for traveling with dogs
After the first stressful 20 min, during which we anticipate the familiar noise emanating from the back, we settle in…even though Zara will continue to puke every few hours, Zen will get bored and start to chew on the seats, one of the two will start to smell really, really bad, and both will force us to pull over what seems like every 5 minutes for a bathroom break. If you can’t already tell, our road trip is essentially a dog and owner’s nightmare.
CHRISTOPH NIEMANN SENDS MRS. SIZZLE A DOG, I THINK
I have admired the art of Christoph Niemann for some time now and my curiosity got to me so I reached out. This is the genius response I got:
"Thank you so much for your kind note! I looked at your blog and this is all very inspiring indeed! I have a silkscreen print of a dog (well...Kind of a dog at least). Not sure if this is what you had in mind but here it is nevertheless."
I love what I got and if you are a fan like me you can now own this heavenly piece of art by clicking HERE.
