I met this remarkable photographer at the National Arts club earlier this summer. I was undone by her instagram feed and inquired about her work. Mrs. Sizzle's dog gone Fall book round up
My cousin, Crazy Sexy Kris Carr a goddess but her dog Buddy is my true hero
One of my biggest mentors, both with cancer advice and with rescue admiration, is my cousin Kris. She is a cancer thriver, and wellness warrior, not to mention, compassionate and informative also. I couldn't help reach out to her to have her share her compelling story about Buddy, who she found in the woods with her husband Brian Fassett. I have to say the journey was one of my favorite Intsagram feeds ever!

Peruvian Connection is warming up these beautiful dogs from Humane Society of NY
I had not yet been to the Humane Society of New York until today and it is with great joy that I can report I finally met my friend Sandra DeFeo who Richard Phibbs had introduced me to! Today I was there with the great Tara Sgroi to photograph some gorgeous dogs who are in need of furever homes. The most fun thing is they are wearing Peruvian Connection sweaters that CEO and Founder, Annie Hurlbut, dreamed up that use the remnants of the alpaca garments that are knit for Peruvian Connection.Tomorrow these sweaters will be for sale with 100% of the proceeds benefitting the Humane Society of New York
KYOKO HAMADA HAS THE BEST WAY OF LOOKING AT ANIMALS
Gizmo is seen in the last picture and when Kyoko took his picture he knew exactly where to be. As she says about animals, "I think I have a healthy relationship with animals in general. When I grew up in Japan, we had tadpoles, crayfish, koi fish, a pet hamster with one arm, pet squirrels (different than American squirrels), turtles, cats and a dog. My view of animals changed slightly though when I saw wild lions in South Africa up close. I knew instinctively this big orange cat can take me down with one swipe. It gave me much more respect for the wilderness."
Cindy Sherman does not have a dog
But she does have a 24 year old parrot called mister Frieda. I was beyond flattered when she sent me pictures of her parrot after I mentioned my dog website; not to mention that Cindy is one of my most favorite photographers out there right now. Girl crush.
OLIVIA BEE CAUGHT NEVILLE JACOBS AND STACY ALLDREDGE HARD AT WORK
Neville Jacobs may get his fashion sense from his dad Marc Jacobs but his good behavior and manners come from working with master dog trainer Stacy Alldredge owner of Who's Walking Who since the day he arrived in NYC at 8 weeks old. Charlie, seen above, is a best friend of Neville's. All clothes seen are part of Marc's men's Fall collection.
2 apps that will make you want to do doggie good
Jane and Cory Turner both light up whenever they talk dogs. Ozzy & Zoe, their furry pups, are the perfect ying-yang pooch pairing while Jane and Cory are the perfect mommy daughter duo. They are the brains behind turning doggie “love” into donation dollars. Their app Dogly lets you edit and share the tons of cute doggie photos on your camera roll (guilty as charged), and the number of “loves” are counted towards a rescue shelter of your choice. Even more brilliant, Dogly gives you a sneak peak into the lives of their fave pooches.
MRS. SIZZLE SHARES WILLIAM WEGMAN'S WORLD AS SEEN THROUGH KIMBERLY M. WANG'S EYES
Stacy Fischer introduced me to Kimberly this Fall. I knew her work from BARK magazine and was so taken with her profile of William Wegman who had also told me about her work. Kimberly is a visual storyteller who loves to hang with artists with the intention of seeing them cultivate and sustain their creativity. I asked Kimberly what it was like to spend time with Wegman observing him and his art.
The Dogophile's take on #MFW and some other fashion inspired pooches
I met this FABULOUS illustrator, THE DOGOPHILE, on my favorite platform INSTAGRAM and was immediately smitten with the hysterical drawings and equally engaging canine captions. As the timing of my discovery was during New York Fashion week I decided that we should have some fun capturing some of the fashions from Milan in addition to running a few of Lucy Marshall's previous drawings from her feed.
It's time for the scoop on Koneko, America's first japanese cat cafe
Lots of people visit Japan for the amazing food. Or the fast-paced, neon-lit culture. Or the rich history. But Cat People visit Japan for the cat cafes – there are hundreds of them there. Cat People of America – rejoice! The US now has its very own Japanese cat café.

ISAAC MIZRAHI LOVES ONLY HANDSOME DOGS - HANDSOME RESCUE DOGS THAT IS. MRS. SIZZLE AND WILLIAM ABRANOWICZ WENT TO HAVE A PLAYDATE WITH THEM
I have known this man for decades - not close like “besties” but rather kindred spirits of sorts. I always knew Isaac was a dog person, but when I learned that the two dogs he owns and loves were rescues, I was relentless. I mean RELENTLESS. So here we go, nothing more to say. Watch the brilliant video directed by William Abranowicz and be delighted by the man who so often delights with humor and his wit. Ladies and Gents, Isaac Mizrahi.
with the help of instagram friends we bring you RC/KP and Kate Perry's lovely animal illustrations
As you all know one of my favorite activities is being glued to Instagram and following the suggestion of accounts of other dog people I admire! So, @growlmama, when I finally get to meet you, I will hug you, for one of the brilliant accounts you led me to was this: Kate Perry of RED CHALK, who is a wonderful illustrator and was inspired by one of my photos enough to do it doggie justice with a drawing! Lucky Raggio, you made the Australian cut! As you would assume, I reached out and here is the "poop" on Kate and her wonderful illustrations!
HAVE YOU EVER SEEN A DOG WORK? ANDREW FLADEBOE'S PICTURES CAPTURE IT ALL.
Andrew Fladeboe's series The Shepherd's Realm is the product of extensive international travel. He has journeyed from the U.S. to the Netherlands, Scotland, Norway and now, New Zealand, to create striking portraits of working dog breeds. Inspired by the tradition of British animal portraiture, his images reference the 18th-century paintings of George Stubbs and the 19th-century canvasses of Edwin Landseer.

This one...Ok she may be small but I think she is larger than life! Chic, quirky, positive are just a few of the words that come to mind when I think of Ella Bean the Dog but go ahead and see for yourself. Mrs. Sizzle grilled her the other week!
